Obituary of Karen Beaty

Karen Mae Beaty, 72, passed away on Tuesday May 12, 2015 after a struggle with Parkinson's disease. She was born in Battle Creek the daughter of James and June (Larson) Laxton. Karen graduated from Harper Creek High School in 1960, Mr. George Beauty School and Kellogg Community College. She was a homemaker that loved her family, cooking and baking for her family and others. She volunteered for various activities here and while she resided in Florida. She was a big fan of NASCAR, Tiger's baseball, U of M and Patriot football teams. She married Harley G. Beaty in 1962, ending in divorce. Karen is survived by a son Kevin Troy, a daughter Deborah and a twin sister Sharon (Laxton) Fitzgerald all of Battle Creek. Preceding her in death are her parents, a son Todd Alan Beaty and a brother Douglas Dwain Laxton. Graveside services will be held on May, 28, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. at Memorial Park Cemetery in Battle Creek. Memorial contributions may be made in Karen's memory to a charity of one's choice.
