Obituary of Ida Strunk

Ida Eloree Strunk, 86, of Benton Harbor, Michigan passed away at Hansen Hospice Center on Monday, May 25, 2015. Ida was born on September 17, 1928 to the late John and Yrsa (Nelson) Gustafson in Bottineau, North Dakota. After school Ida wed Howard Strunk on September 22, 1946 in Benton Harbor, Michigan. Together the two had four children. Ida loved to work outside, especially in her garden. She was also an avid reader and loved crocheting playing cards, watching John Wayne western movies and listening to Elvis music. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Howard Strunk. Ida is survived by her children Mary Paul of New Port Richey, Florida, Gary (Robin) Strunk of Benton Harbor, Michigan, Cary Strunk of Benton Harbor and Diana (Alex) Atteberry of Palm Harbor, Florida; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and siblings Adele Persful of Gobles, Michigan, Marilyn Saroni of St. Joseph, Michigan, John Gustafson of Paw Paw, Michigan and Loren (Julia) Gustafson of Buchanan, Michigan. In keeping with Ida's wishes she has been cremated and her family will be remembering her privately. Those wishing to make a donation in Ida's memory may do so to the Hansen Hospice center that so lovingly cared for Ida.
