This posting is late but I just found out about Sis. Griffin's (Martin) passing. I first met her when I was a small child in the early/mid 1980s at Alabama campmeeting. My parents (Don and Chris Thomas) introduced me and I was immediately drawn to her smile and pleasant disposition. I still have a small token that she gave to me when I saw her again at a revival in Virginia. I have a great picture of her in front a sign that reads "where there is no vision, the people perish." She was a Godly woman, full of dedication and a true Christian example. I have never forgotten her and have thought about her many times throughout the years. She encountered many battles along the way but kept her sights on heaven and is now enjoying her reward. I'm sure my mother was excited to see her when she got to heaven. May God continue to comfort her family and friends.

It was a blessing to see Sister Griffin just days before she returned up north. Everyone here in Florida loved her very much and she was a pillar that I looked to in the church. Once we interviewed her in a young people's class and she shared many miracles that she witnessed during her mission work and time in Cuba. Sister Griffin was a true woman of God and a beautiful example of holiness.

Phyllis became my mom when she married my father. She was an angel who lived amongst us. I have known Phyllis all my life and have never heard a unkind word said by her about anyone ever. My fathers life was full and richly rewarded by her presence in our lives. I feel a great loss as she was the one I turned to for wisdom whenever I wrestled with complex problems of life.

Sister Phyllis as we have always known her was truly a woman of God and a Lady. Because of her vision she gave to me a wonderful life. She brought my husband and his family from Cuba. Beyond the physical labors she did, she has left a legacy that will influence generations to come. Because of her, souls have been reached around the globe. Phyllis was such a woman of Christ that her life truly mattered and truly made a difference in this world. Although I only met her briefly at a gathering at Coulters Chapel once, she indirectly touched my life through the influence she had in my Moms life as a young girl. Thank You Phyllis for sharing the gift of your life. We know you are at peace now and reaping the blessings of the reward of a life truly lived for Him. You are loved and much respected and you will be missed here on Earth.

Phyllis was a remarkable woman and I am so grateful I had the opportunity to know her. I will miss her wit, brilliance and incredible smile. Her compassion made a difference in the lives of so many others and her work will never be forgotten. I feel fortunate to have had her accept me as family and be my "Aunt." I am sending love and light to her family and wishing them peace as they try to cope with this immeasurable loss.
