Obituary of Cora G. Lolmaugh

Cora Lolmaugh, 68, of Niles, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, September 4, 2015 at her residence, following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on June 29, 1947 in Benton Harbor to the late Leonard and Martha (Bybee) Cheney. Cora graduated from Niles High School Class of 1965 and was active in the GAA playing both softball and tennis. After high school Cora continued being an avid tennis player, playing on several leagues and winning the city doubles championship. She enjoyed being outdoors, spending quiet times fishing and hunting and camping with family and friends. She was a Notre Dame Football fan. Her most favorite time was that spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was employed by Tyler Refrigeration for over 37 years and most recently had worked for Enterprise Car Rental. In 2012 Cora graduated, with honors, from Southwestern Michigan College with an Associate's Degree in Business. She was an active member of Phi Theta Kappa and Bend in the River Conservation Club and was active at the Niles Eagles. Cora is survived by her two sons, Eric and Tim Lolmaugh of Niles, eleven grandchildren; Gage, Gabbi, Sayge, Payton, Serenity, Seth, Ciara, Sean, Hali, Destiney and Dylan, seven siblings; Jeanne (Brian) Hales of South Bend, Leonard Jr. (Elaine) Cheney of Rogers, Minnesota, Cheryl (Richard) Noble of Niles, Debbie Rosetto of South Bend, Michael (Kelly) Cheney of Niles, Walter Cheney of Leroy, Michigan and Pat (Lisa) Cheney of Niles, as well as a host of nieces, nephews and countless lives she has touched. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Brown Funeral Home in Niles with a time of visitation beginning at Noon. Memorial contributions may be made in Cora's memory to her family.
