Ginny was a great teacher and a caring educator. She was always willing to give a student another chance and a hand up. A truly wonderful lady!

We were fortunate to have this wonderful teacher for 2 of our 3 boys at Lake Michigan Catholic. She could reach any student, from the brightest to the struggling, in a natural and positive way. She made science a wonderful class experience while insisting that her students give their best every day.
One year, our oldest boy decided to dress up as Mrs. Grove for Halloween. I went into the middle school that morning to get a photo of her....just to make sure that we got the hair just right... and when I told her why I was getting a photo of her, she howled with laughter! She was a good sport about the whole thing!
I begged her to keep teaching when she retired a few years ago, but I'm so glad that she had that time after retirement to pursue other adventures, which I'm sure were many.
I will be forever grateful for the many gifts that she gave our boys in her everyday actions and words.
I am a better person for having known and loved this great woman.

Mrs. Hevel Grove touched the lives of all 3 of my children, as well as many other young minds. She challenged them, & helped make them who they are today. Her 'leaf project' challenged us parents as well! I remember a certain midnight search for a particular leaf, found in a cemetery! Oh how we loved her. Godspeed!

Thank you for everything you taught me in 7th and 8th grade I learned a lot, especially how to take great notes.

Ms. Hevel ah ah ah it's Mrs Grove. I had the pleasure of being a student and teachers aid to this marvelous woman. She was the only person I knew that could pull the underlying meaning of any Star Trek movie. She always had the respect of her students and when you heard that door open and the click clack of her heals you knew it was time to be quite and learn. She will be missed and she is the reason I am where I am today, working in the field of science.

I was cleaning out a closet, ironically it was in the last couple weeks, and ran across my 8th Grade Scientist project, filled with the hardest educational lessons I'd learned up until that point. I smiled remembering how much I loved that class and truly appreciate the passion in which Mrs. Hevel (Groves) taught, her tenacity, and belief that each of us could strive for greatness if we wanted it. She will be missed by all who knew her but lives on in each of us.

Ginny and I taught together for 9 years at LMC. Thanks to her I learned how to be a better teacher. And together we shared our love for God and His creation. We also shared the same birthday. You will be missed! Love, Maggie DeStazio

Mrs. Hevel (Grove) as she was known to the LMC class of 2001 was an exemplary science teacher. She taught cohesion and understanding of both science and religion by offering the perceptive that one complemented the other and vice versal. This view was all-inclusive given contemporary polarizing perceptions of both.
For this and many other memories I will surely miss her as she ventures into the Final Frontier.
