Obituary of Terry Richard Weiss

Terry R. Weiss, 75, of Niles, passed away on Monday, May 13, 2013 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 16, 1938 in Benton Harbor, Michigan to the late Norval R. Josephine E. (Kenney) Weiss. Terry was a graduate of Benton Harbor High School class of 1956. After graduation, Terry enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he would travel the world and serve his country proudly on eight ships. After honorably discharging from the Navy he worked as a civilian with them until 1986. In his free time Terry has always enjoyed reading non-fiction, especially history, dancing and was an avid University of Michigan fan. On October 31, 1998 he married Mary Ruth (Brown) Greene at a ceremony in Three Oaks, Michigan. He is preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Elaine Marie Weiss. Terry is survived by his wife Mary R. Weiss of Niles, stepchildren; Shawn Greene of South Bend, Karey (Juanita) Greene of St. Joseph, Kevin Greene of Niles and Lori (Gary) Hanlin of Bridgman, three grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and two sisters Sally Jo Becker of Aurora, Illinois and Julie Anne Weiss of Benton Harbor, Michigan. In keeping with Terry's wishes cremation has taken place and his family will gather at a later time for a time of remembrance. Memorial contributions may be made in Terry's memory to a charity of one's choice.
