Obituary of Russell Bluthardt

Russell Bluthardt, 79, of Battle Creek, passed away at his residence on Friday, October 9, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 20, 1936 in Chicago to the late Russell Bluthardt and was raised by his loving grandparents Carl and Mary Henneberg. Russell graduated from Benzonia High School and furthered his education at Grand Valley State University. Russell served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He owned and operated Russell's Home Repair and worked in the power plant at the V.A. Medical Center for over 20 years. He enjoyed spending time working in his his yard, growing flowers and was an avid Detroit Lions Football fan. On August 10, 1968 Russell married the love of his life Mildred Cardwell at a ceremony in Battle Creek. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Mildred Bluthardt of Battle Creek, four sons; John Long of Battle Creek, John Bluthardt of Battle Creek, Carl Bluthardt of Minnesota and Jeff Bluthardt of Battle Creek, three daughters; Karen Bluthardt of California, Diana Feczer of Germany, Chris Weigandt of Trenton, Michigan, a special grandson Gilbert Talamantez III of Trenton, as well as ten other grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at Noon at Church of God of Prophecy in Battle Creek, with Pastor Jack Anderson, Jr. and Pastor Jesse Buie, officiating. A time of visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. An interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
