Obituary of Linda Gale Kizer

Linda Kizer, 70, of Niles, passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, Indiana. She was born May 30, 1945, in Monroe, LA to Robert and Mary (Parker) Shumate. After high school, Linda attended North Western University in Shreveport, LA , earning a bachelor's degree in nursing. On June 16, 1987, Linda wed Craig Kizer, at a ceremony in Niles, Michigan. Linda was a member of the Portage Road General Baptist Church in Niles, for over thirteen years. She enjoyed playing hymns on the piano and was an avid collector of Antique dolls. Linda enjoyed reading, gardening and crocheting in her spare time and "Was a good ol' Southern cook". She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Bell (Parker) Shumate; step-son, Trent Kizer and her grandson, Alex. Linda leaves to cherish her memory, her husband of twenty-eight years, Craig Kizer, her father; Robert W. Shumate, children; Meshelle (Brian) DeHart, Kristy (Terry) Snyder, Stephanie (Mike) Hollis, Todd (Jacqueline) Kizer, sister; Judy Lee, seventeen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in honor of Linda's life, may do so to the Portage Road Baptist Church, 1765 Portage Rd, Niles, MI. A time of visitation will take place at the Portage Road Baptist Church, on Monday, November 2, 2015 at 3 O'clock in the Afternoon with services to follow at 4 O'clock in the Afternoon. Linda Kizer was saved, by the grace of God.
