Obituary of Rosetta Mae Cushman

Rosetta Mae Cushman, 94, of Battle Creek passed to her rest on October 29, 2017. She was born to the late John and Anna (Roach) West on December 5, 1922 in Battle Creek, Michigan. On September 24, 1954 Rosetta wed Seth Cushman at a ceremony in Battle Creek and celebrated 41 years of marriage. Rosetta attended church her whole life and lived her faith daily. She worked for a time at Kellogg Company, looked forward to winters in Florida with Seth, thoroughly enjoyed her time she served as a foster grandparent, and was always fond of the times she was surrounded by her family. She was known for her delicious homemade noodles and her incredibly tasty pies. She could be found doing word books and jigsaw puzzles, and she attended every church service at the Oaks and also enjoyed being involved in all of the activities. She is preceded in death by her parents, and both of her siblings, Rhoda Phillips, and John West and a step-son and a special niece, Patricia Chase. She is survived by her two step-daughters, her nieces, Bonnie White of Parumph, Nevada, Judy (Sonny) Saunders of Battle Creek and Lora (Bob) Jinks of Battle Creek. She is also survived by her two nephews, John West of Battle Creek and Wesley West of Georgia and several great nieces and nephews. A time of visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at The Potter's House Church. Funeral services to honor Rosetta's life will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 11:00 am at The Potter's House Church with interment following at Floral Lawn Cemetery.
