No words can express the depth of loss we all feel and it's simply not possible to describe what my father meant to his us in any short period of time.
My father's life was rewarding and full of accomplishments that made us very proud. Fresh off the farm after graduation and into military service, through law enforcement, to GM retiree. But if someone was to ask him how he would best describe his life he would respond with how love and cared for his family. 58 years of marriage, kids, grand and great grandkids. He loved each and everyone one of us unequivocally, without reserve or judgement. He gave each of us everything he had everyday he could.
If any of us were asked the same question about my father, simply, he was a beautiful man. He cared so much for all of us. Sure, he worried about us at times as all parents do. Im sure he had more than 1 sleepless night over the years. But he never gave up on us. Always with words of encouragement and expressed pride. This man has inspired 3 generations with unconditional love.
He leaves behind an impossible set of shoes to fill, but he also leaves behind a piece of himself in each of us that drives us everyday of our lives to do our best and to never give up trying.
