Obituary of Barbara Jean Brookins

Barbara Brookins, 81, of Dowagiac passed away at home on Sunday, February 21, 2016.
She was born to the late Robert Bryant and Leila Watts on August 9, 1934 in Dowagiac.
Barbara leaves to cherish her memory, sons; Roger (Laveda) and Rodney Brookins of Dowagiac and a granddaughter that she raised as her own, Robin Brookins, two sisters, Shirley McGee of Kalamazoo and Marjorie Pompey of Cassopolis, 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, 19 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert Bryant and Leila Watts, husband, Alton Brookins, daughter, Sherry Boyd, brother, Jack Jefferson and sister, Roselene Pompey.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 27, 2016 at two O'clock in the Afternoon at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Niles. Interment will be held on Monday, February 29, 2016 at eleven O'clock in the Morning at Riverside Cemetery, Dowagiac.
