Obituary of Sherrell Walker

Sherrell M. Walker, 85, of Niles, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016 at Riveridge Manor in Niles. She was born on December 26, 1930 in Illinois to the late Gerald and Buela (Burglo) Goodnow. Sherrell was retired from Pawating Hospital after many years of service in housekeeping. She collected teddy bears and enjoyed watching soap operas. She also liked quiet times of reading books and bubble baths. Her life was built around her family and she was a devoted member of the First Presbyterian Church of Niles for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Walker, a son, Robert McLean and a sister, Jerry Lynn Goodnow. Sherrell is survived by her two daughters, Sharon (Fred) Reed of Niles and Kathleen Underwood of Niles, a sister Julane Van Den Burg, eight grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made in Sherrell's memory to The First Presbyterian Church of Niles. A memorial service will be held at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel in Niles on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. with a time of visitation beginning one hour prior. An interment will follow at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
