Obituary of Travis R. Gamel

Travis Richard Gamel, 26, of Benton Harbor, passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2016, surrounded by his close family and friends, at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph. He was born on December 3, 1989, in Atlanta, Georgia, to; Darius R. Gamel and Melissa D. (Akins) Lemmon. Travis lived a rather social lifestyle from day one; he had many friends growing up in Southwest Michigan and enjoyed skating the streets with his siblings in his early teenage years. Growing into a motivated young man, he was very proud of the work he did during his construction career and often talked passionately about the projects that he accomplished. He had a knack for making people smile and he touched so many hearts with his goofy personality. Travis is survived by his parents; Darius R. Gamel and Melissa D. Lemmon, two beautiful daughters; Evelyn (6) and Elizabeth (1), seven siblings; Frankie Gamel, Darius Gamel, Matthew Gamel, Hannah Gamel, Kerry Babcock, Sarah Babcock and Brittany Babcock. Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 23, 2016 at 11 O'clock in the Morning at Brown Funeral Home, 521 E. Main Street, Niles with a time of visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Crystal Springs Cemetery, Benton Harbor, Michigan.
