Carol Ann (Smith) Cradolph, 71, of Cassopolis passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at her home with her loving family surrounding her. She was born on June 27, 1944 to the late George Sr. and Dorothy (Baugher) Smith in Warsaw, Indiana. After high school, Carol married Elmer Shoemaker and to this union three children were born. In December 1973, Carol married Owen Cradolph and they had two children. Anyone who knew Carol knew that her family was the most important thing to her, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved cooking for her family and friends and spent many hours working in her flower and vegetable gardens. Carol is preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Owen Cradolph and a brother George A. Smith Jr. She is survived by her children; Stacey (Beth) Shoemaker, of Niles, LeAnn (Gerald) Stewart, of Cassopolis, Deborah Cradolph (Steve Cheathum) of Edwardsburg, Telitha (James) Shelton, of Cassopolis, and Heather Cradolph of White Pigeon, 13 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, a brother Leo Smith of Cassopolis and two sisters Marcia Roberson of Camden, Indiana and Patty Ernsberger of Edwardsburg and a host of family and friends. God's Garden God looked around His garden And He found an empty place. He then looked down upon this Earth, And saw your tired face. He put his arms around you And Lifted you to rest. God's garden must be beautiful, He always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, He knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never Get well on Earth again. He saw the road was getting rough, And the hills were hard to climb, So He closed your weary eyelids, And whispered "Peace Be Thine." It broke our hearts to lose you But you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you The day God called you home. Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in Carol's memory may do so to her family or can be mailed in care of Brown Funeral Home. In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place and her family will be remembering her privately.
