Obituary of Clare M. Dedrick

Please share a memory of Clare to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Clare M. Dedrick, 52, of Longmont, Colorado, passed away at her parent's home on Friday, June 7, 2013. Clare was born on November 3, 1960 to Gerald and Irene (Stook) Marshall in Edinburgh, Scotland. She was one of four children growing up in the Marshall household. Clare moved to the United States as a young child and on March 8, 2012 Clare wed the love of her life, Steve Dedrick, at a ceremony in Denver, Colorado. Clare had a soft heart for pets, especially cats and was also a wonderful cook. She was an amazing cook and took delight in feeding everyone well, and copiously at that, especially her wonderful cheesecake. Seven and a half years ago Clare swept into Steve's life and illuminated his drab and lonely bachelorhood. She was a constant companion and Steve's best friend, enduring his foibles with a smile and a laugh but she never let anyone take themselves too seriously. Clare had many friends whom counted on her for child care, pet care, even mowing their lawn when they couldn't. She was loving and giving by nature which won her the respect of her entire block and everyone else that met or knew her. She was the love, light, and comfort that made Steve's house a home. Clare is survived by her husband, Steve Dedrick of Longmont, sons Ian and Connor Diede of Mead, Colorado, parents Gerald and Irene Marshall of Niles, Michigan, brothers Guy Marshall of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Mark Marshall of Texas and one sister Maria (John) Abbott of Lincoln, Nebraska. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in Clare's name may do so to their local animal shelter. In keeping with Clare's wishes she has been cremated and her family will be holding a Memorial Mass at St. Mark Catholic Church, located at 3 North 19th Street in Niles on Monday, June 24, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. Those wishing to leave a message, upload a photo of Clare or send their condolences to her family may do so here on our website or on our Facebook page at www.Facebook.com/BrownFuneralHomeNiles.
