Obituary of Jack Van Lue

Jack Duane Van Lue, of Niles, Michigan, passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family. Jack was born September 1, 1929 in Niles and had lived here his entire life. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a Corporal, and traveled back and forth from Panama to Greenland. He was a machinist in the army keeping military equipment operational. He later worked as a driver for Texaco, Inc., for 29 years retiring in 1981. He was a faithful member of the Pokagon United Methodist Church. He married Betty Faye Pierce on November 22, 1958 in Niles. She survives with three daughters, Cindy (Hugh) Masterman, Melanie (Hal) Davis, Robyn (Kevin) Delinski; seven grandchildren, Hugh (Jen) Masterman III, Samantha Masterman (Kyle Bellgraph), Haley (Zachary) Wilson, Hannah Davis, Riley, Kallen and Kade Delinski; three great grandchildren, Hunter and Luke Masterman and Preston Yoder. Also surviving are three brothers, Joe Van Lue of Niles; Bill (Joan) Van Lue of Illinois, and Larry (Sally) Van Lue of Niles. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen Van Lue, and three brothers, Jim, Mike and Jerry Van Lue. Jack was so proud of his family and was always there for them. He loved children and was a big tease. He had a nickname for everyone. He was truly one of a kind and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
