Obituary of Robert Morehouse

Robert "Uncle Bob" Morehouse, 91, of Niles passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at Center for Hospice Care, South Bend. He was born to the late Allen and Weltha (Scott) Morehouse on February 21, 1925, in Niles. After graduating from Niles High School, he joined the United States Army Air Corps where he proudly served his country during WWII as a radio operator/gunner in a B-24 where he flew 33 missions over Germany. After returning home from the war, he was hired by Simplicity Pattern where he worked as a pressman for over 40 years, retiring in 1987. Bob was also a life longer member of the Niles Elks Lodge as well as the American Legion, Post #26.On October 21, 1950 he married Audrey Allison at a ceremony in Niles. Uncle Bob was a true outdoorsman, he enjoyed time spent fishing and hunting and was a great golfer. More than anything he loved spending time with his nieces and nephews as well as his great and great-great nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Allen and Weltha Morehouse, siblings; Pauline Gosline, Thelma Allen, Alan Morehouse, Esther Mantke and Carolyn Hibbard. Bob is survived by his wife and a host of nieces and nephews.
