Obituary of Robert L. Post Sr.

Robert L. Post, Sr., 80, of Benton Harbor, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2016 at Hanson Hospice Center in Stevensville.
He was born on July 13, 1936 in St. Joseph, Michigan to the late Foster A. and Eva M. (Maxson) Post.
On April 8, 1960 he married Patsy A. Bertog. Although the couple divorced, they remained best of friends until her passing. A farmer most of his life, Robert considered it his job and hobby. He was a member of the Benton Harbor DAV and the Benton Harbor VFW. He was proud of his military service, enlisting in the U.S. Army and serving his country proudly in the Korean War. Robert also had a love of old westerns, especially John Wayne.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his former wife, Patsy Post, his daughter, Roxy Post, two brothers and four sisters.
Robert is survived by his two sons, Robert (Tamera Lynn) Post, Jr. of South Bend, Duke Wayne Post of Sodus, two daughters, Tammy Lynne Post of Benton Harbor and Robin Post-Hopkins of Ypsilanti, seven grandchildren, a brother and two sisters.
His family will gather at the Decatur Cemetery in Decatur, Michigan on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the veterans section, where military honors will be performed.
Memorial contributions may be made in Robert's memory to the American Lung Association.
