Charles V. Radcliff, 64, of South Bend, passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 with his family by his side. Charles was born on February 22, 1952 to the late Nicholas and Mildred (Maben) Radcliff in Niles, Michigan. After graduating from high school Charles joined the United States Navy. Where he spent more than 7 years as a Boatswain's Mate. He later met Tomme Owens and together the two enjoyed more than twenty wonderful years together. He was preceded in death by his father, Nicholas Radcliff and his mother, Mildred Slavik. Charles is survived by his partner of 20 years, Tomme Lynn Owens; his children, Michelle Proctor of Ionia, Michigan, Nicole Banasiewicz of Ionia, Michigan, Heather (Noah) Schumacher of New London, Connecticut, Trey (Eleanor) Zubler of Del Ray Beach, Florida, April (Michael) Barricklow of South Bend, Indiana and Jacob Zubler of Madison, Wisconsin; four grandchildren with one more on the way; and siblings, Harry Dee (Julie) Radcliff of Longmont, Colorado, Kathryn (John) Raykowski of Oroville, Washington and Roger (Shirley) Radcliff of Goddard, Kansas. Friends and family are encouraged to join Charles' family at the Near Northwest Neighborhood Community Center located at 1007 Portage Avenue in South Bend from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. where his family will be hosting a gathering in his memory on Sunday, August 21, 2016. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Charles' name to Pet Refuge.
