Obituary of Richard Grochow

Richard David Grochow, 83, of Dowagiac, passed away on Thursday, August 18, 2016 at his home, with his family surrounding him. He was born on February 1, 1933 in Buffalo, New York to the late Emil and Margaret (Praberski) Grochow. Richard proudly served in the United States Military after high school, shortly after returning, he married Shirley Arlene Ebert on January 10, 1953 at a ceremony in Buffalo, NY., she preceded him in death. Richard worked for over sixteen years as a manager for Sunstrand, retiring in 1988. More than anything his family has always been an integral part of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents; Emil and Margaret Grochow, wife; Shirley A. Grochow, sister; Hilda Steinhoff and brothers; Ernest and George Grochow. Richard leaves to cherish his memory to his daughters; Debra Martin, Margaret Grochow and Christine Grochow, son; David (Denise) Grochow, grandchildren; Adam Grochow, Miranda (Eric) Lebold and Melanie Grochow, two great grandchildren; Emersyn Lebold (3) and Brecken Grochow (1). Those wishing to make a memorial contribution in memory of Richard, may do so to Hospice at Home, St. Joseph, MI. At Richards request, cremation has taken place and his family will be remembering him privately.
