Obituary of Ronald Mobley

Ronald F. Mobley, 62, of Benton Harbor, went to his eternal rest on Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Lakeland Medical Center in St. Joseph. He was born on July 21, 1955, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. He was raised by his parents, George and Pastor Ella M. Mobley. Ronnie accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of elder Hunter of Bethlehem Temple where he was a drummer. He became the first drummer at Full Gospel Tabernacle under the leadership of his mom, Pastor Ella Mobley. Ronnie graduated from Benton Harbor High School with the class of 1973. Ronnie worked in his earlier years at Auto Specialty Inc. and Wollins Products. He has worked the last several years as a driver for Dial-A-Ride public transportation service. Ronnie married Sheila Jackson on December. 20, 1976 and from this union April Mobley was born. Ronnie always enjoyed playing a good game of pool at campus Q with the boys. He loved roller skating, playing basketball and listening to good music in his spare time. He was preceded in death by his parents and several siblings. Ronald leaves behind his daughter, April (Lafonza Cunningham) Mobley of Georgia; along with her mother Sheila (Jackson) Mobley; son, Ronald Sean Sampson of Iowa; stepdaughter, Shermaine Moore along with her children Justyce Griffin and Jaliyah Moore; stepsons, Bernard Brown and Jermaine Moore; grandchildren, Courtney L. Burton Jr., Caitlyn, LaShay, Jeron, and Kelsean; brother, Ernest (Cindy) McCall; close friends, Martha Moore, Otis Turner, Jerry Heard and Willie (Hawk) Mitchell; his birth mother, Ruth Hall; a special friend, Victoria Kirby; aunt, Octavia Bowman; along with a host of other aunts, uncles, relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Full Gospel Tabernacle, 1800 Territorial Road in Benton Harbor with Pastor Carl Horne officiating. A time of visitation will begin one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at North Shore Memory Gardens.
