Obituary of George Searfoss

Please share a memory of George to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
George (Jonah) Searfoss, 65, of Niles, passed away at his home on Monday, September 26, 2016. Jonah was born February 17, 1951 and graduated as class president from Niles High school in 1969. Jonah had a love of music and was a prolific songwriter. Over the years he wrote dozens of songs reflecting his life and times. He was an avid reader and his memory was almost infallible. He could remember dates, scores and details of events that took place years ago. He was a lifelong Notre Dame fan and loved all college sports as well as professional baseball and football. Although these were his passions nothing surpassed his love for his family. Jonah was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Sr. and Jeanne Searfoss and two brothers Mick and Bob. Jonah is survived by his sister, Patty; brother, Dan (Loretta) Searfoss and their children, of Deltona Florida; his sister in law, Elaine and Bob and Elaine's children and grandchildren of Niles. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Jonah's life will be held at a later date. Contributions may be made to Hospice at Home or the hospice of your choice.
