Obituary of Barbara Cole

Barbara S. Cole, 73, of Niles, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2016 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 14, 1942 to the late Hubert R. and Mamie (Rawls) Abercrombie. On March 25, 1960 Barbara married Donald Cole at a ceremony in Victoria, Texas. A homemaker most of her life, Barbara was a fantastic cook, known for her perfect fried chicken. She enjoyed fishing and traveling with her husband, Israel and Mt. Rushmore being her favorites. Barbara was a woman of great faith and never missed a day to read the Bible. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Joan Haeber. Barbara is survived by her husband, Don Cole of Niles, four daughters; Joanna (Jim) Whitehead of Baroda, Theresa (Buddy) Johnson of Niles, Tammy (Donnie) Stapleton of Edwardsburg and Margie (Perry) Anglemyer of Niles, thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren. Her family and friends will gather to celebrate her life on Friday, October 21, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at First Church of Christ-Christian, 2240 Yankee Street in Niles with Pastor Bob Kenney officiating. She will be laid to rest at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
