Charles LeRoy Clymer, 75, of Niles, passed away at South Bend Hospice House on Friday, December 9, 2016. Charles was born on August 24, 1941 to the late Francis and Alfrieda (O'Konski) Clymer in Niles, Michigan. After graduating from Edwardsburg High School, Class of 1959, Charles went in to the printing business. After many years at Niles Daily Star Charles went to work for Ave Maria Press at Notre Dame until his retirement in 1996. On March 14, 1964 Charles wed Meredith Baker at a ceremony in Niles. The two loved to travel the United States even going from Copper Harbor, Michigan to Key West, Florida one year. Charles was a past firefighter for Howard Township Fire Department and also loved to spend his time hunting. Charles was also a gardener; if you couldn't eat it he didn't plant it. Charles was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife, Meredith Clymer, and brother, Barry (Cheryl) Clymer of Niles. Memorial donations may be made in Charles' name to the Howard Township Fire Department located at 2681 Detroit Road, Niles, MI 49120. In keeping with Charles' wishes he has been cremated and his family will be remembering him privately.
