Obituary of Barbara Castrovillari

Barbara Ann Castrovillari, 66, of Niles, passed away at her home on Wednesday, December 28, 2016. Barb was born on February 21, 1950 to the late Harry and Winnifred (Haagenson) Davis in Hinsdale, Illinois. A homemaker most of her life, Barb found great enjoyment in quiet times like feeding the ducks and seagulls downtown, word searches and adult coloring books. She collected elephants and rarely missed a Saturday sale at Goodwill. She had a passion for animals and had a tremendous love for her family. Barb is survived by her children, Lisa (Jim) Lutz of South Bend and Kendra Rhodes of South Bend; three grandchildren; Joshua (Amy) Atwood, Brittney Rhodes and Gregory Rhodes; two great grandchildren; Elyn Atwood and Cadence Rhodes and her sister, Holly Jaffke. Memorial contributions may be made in Barb's memory to ASPCA, PO Box 96929, Washington, DC 20090-6929. In keeping with Barb's wishes, she has been cremated and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Brown Funeral Home in Niles beginning at 12:00 p.m. with a time of visitation one hour prior.
