Obituary of John Everett Vance

John Vance, 65, of Niles, passed away on July 2, 2013 at his home.
John Vance was born on January 4, 1948 in Wolf Lake, Indiana to Leon and Dolores (Hornung) Vance.
In 1966 he graduated from Eau Claire High School.
He is preceded in death by his father, step-father Donald Gartee, grandparents John (Martha) Hornung and a brother Craig Vance.
John is survived by his mother, daughter Michelle (John) Hassle of Dowagiac, two grandchildren, John Michael Hassle and Mckenzie Hassle, a sister Vickie (Vern) Herter of Eau Claire, aunts and uncles, Sharon Majeski and Ed (Gerry) Hornung, and several nieces and nephews.
He enjoyed painting, old black and white movies and watching baseball.
In keeping with the families wishes cremation has taken place and there will be a time of gathering with friends and family at the Niles River Park on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 11:00 am to honor his life.
