Obituary of Flossie Fay Huff

Flossie Fay Huff, 76, of Dowagiac, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Flossie was born on March 2, 1940 to the late George and Pauline (Osborn) Ottinger in Hartford Township, Michigan. She was one of thirteen children growing up and loved her large family. She was a very giving person and loved to care for others. On October 23, 1956 Flossie wed Daniel Huff at a ceremony in Roseland, Indiana. Together they raised eight children. She was a 28 year volunteer of St. Vincent de Paul in Dowagiac. She loved everyone in her family and enjoyed taking care of her children, grandchildren and most recently even her great grandchildren. Flossie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Daniel Huff in 2002; son Billy Ottinger; daughter, Flossie Huff; sisters, Dorothy Starett, Betty Gibbs, Barb King, Sue McDaniels; brothers, Leo, Donald, John and George Ottinger; one grandchild; and one great grandchild. She is survived by her children, Tina Irving of Dowagiac, Virginia (Charles) Collett of Dowagiac, Shari (Randy) Osborne of Kalamazoo, Tammy (Ed) West of Dowagiac, Daniel Huff of Dowagiac and George Huff of Dowagiac; 13 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; brother, Bobby (Robin) Ottinger of Dowagiac; sister, Rosie Ottinger of Dowagiac; and countless extended family and friends. A time of visitation will be held on Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 1:00 p.m. Donations may be made to Flossie's family in care of Brown Funeral Home at 521 East Main Street, Niles, Michigan 49120.
