Obituary of Margaret Martha Dvorak

Please share a memory of Margaret to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Margaret Martha Condon Dvorak was born April 3rd, 1926 in New York City. She entered the Lord's loving arms after a brief illness on Saturday, January the 14th, 2017. She was at home surrounded by those she loved. Born to John and Julia Condon, Margaret was the eldest daughter of six siblings living in the Middle Village neighborhood of New York. Described as a "noble" and "elegant" young lady, she played the mandolin in the classical style and was known for sharing her time and attention with her younger siblings. Margaret graduated from Grover Cleveland High School and took her first job printing numbers on aircraft dials with radioactive paint. It was while volunteering to make sandwiches for servicemen at the Brooklyn USO that she met the love of her life, Richard Patrick Dvorak, who was serving on the USS Oriskany. They were married on May 14th, 1952. Richard and Margaret eventually celebrated the arrival of their children Richard, John, Thomas, Judi and Tim. After Richard completed his service in the U.S. Navy, the young family moved to South Bend, Indiana (Richard's home town) before settling in nearby Niles, Michigan. The couple were active and dedicated members of St. Mark Catholic Parish where Margaret worked for 14 years as secretary. Richard preceded Margaret in death after 60 years of marriage. She was also preceded in death by her parents, siblings John and Joanna, and two children who died at birth. She is survived by her children; Richard (Carol) Dvorak of Knoxville, Tennessee, John Dvorak of Niles, Thomas (Gillian) Dvorak of Chesapeake, Virginia, Judith (Gregory) Ingleright of Niles and Timothy Dvorak of Niles, siblings Patricia Collins, Richard and James Condon, twelve grandchildren; Simon (Kristi) Dvorak, Greg (Tara) Ingleright, Julie (David) Ewing, Jenni (Joe) Murray, Daniel Dvorak, Melody (Jesse) Greer, Shaun (Kelley) Dvorak, Adam (Hannah) Dvorak, Christopher (Kristin) Dvorak, Christine (Bobby) Roche, Brian (Heather) Dvorak and Amethyst Dvorak, twenty-five great-grandchildren. Her sharp mind, blunt wit and loving grace will be missed dearly by all. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, January 20, 2017 at Brown Funeral Home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with recitation of the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at St. Mark Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation one hour prior in the church. Funeral services will be officiated by Father Thomas King, C.S.C. and Brother Dennis Meyers, C.S.C.
