Obituary of Betty A. Bogenreider

Betty Ann (Cinninger) Bogenrieder, 86, of Niles passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017 with her daughters at her side. Betty was born to the late Roy and Celesta (Johnson) Cinninger in Minot, North Dakota on October 7, 1930. At a ceremony in Niles, on September 7, 1950, Betty married William "Bill" Bogenrieder and they enjoyed 63 years of marriage until his passing in 2014. Betty and her family moved to Niles when she was four years old. She was a 1947 graduate of Niles High School. After graduating from high school, she worked at Bendix Corporation for several years until her marriage. After her children were in school, Betty was a sales representative for Minnesota Woolen. Betty was very talented in a variety of artistry. She was a professional florist owning her own shop The Petal Pusher for many years. Many will remember her for her baking skills and cake decorating, winning countless awards. A lifelong lover of pets, Betty was known for her championship sled dog racing, including bringing a race to Hampshire Golf Course in 1964. She was a member for many years of the Great Lakes Sled Dog Association. Betty enjoyed sewing and made clothing for her children and grandchildren. Betty became an accomplished oil painting artist in her later years. Betty was her children's biggest fan, watching her daughters play competitive softball for many years. She was a member of Sumnerville Bible Baptist Church. Betty is preceded in passing by her parents; husband Bill; and a daughter Jill Bogenrieder. She is survived by her two daughters, Cynthia (Michael) Holsclaw of Indianapolis, and Sandra Kater of Niles. She will also be missed by her three grandchildren and her one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at 1:00PM at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel with a time of visitation beginning one hour prior. She will be laid to rest at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
