Obituary of Robert Jerue

Robert "Skip" L. Jerue, 87, of Niles, passed away on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, following a brief illness. He was born on November 4, 1929 in Buchanan to the late Donald and Verna Jerue. Robert enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a salesman for Budweiser Distributors for many years. On December 4, 1955 he married Rebecca C. Humphreys. Robert enjoyed playing golf and shuffleboard. He always looked forward to meeting his friends for coffee at various local restaurants. Robert and his dog "Piston" were inseparable. Robert will be remembered for his kindness and always wanting to help his family with projects. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son, Roger Jerue and his siblings; Jack, Top, Donald, Janette, Thelma and Dorothy. Robert is survived by his daughters, Pamela Jerue of Dowagiac and Barbara Lucker of Niles, eight grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Brown Funeral Home in Niles on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Noon with a time of visitation one hour prior. The service will conclude with military honors performed by the U.S. Army.
