Obituary of Ruby N. Deeds

Ruby N. Deeds, 70, was called home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 27, 2017, after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis, surrounded by her loving family. She was born September 12, 1946 in LaPorte, Indiana to the late Charles and Mabel (Herman) McConnell. Shortly after graduating high school Ruby was swept off of her feet by the love of her life, Fred Deeds. The couple was united in marriage on June 19, 1965 in Buchanan, Michigan and enjoyed celebrating their 50th year anniversary in 2015, surrounded by family and friends. Ruby and Fred were inseparable. They worked together for many years traveling across the United States running their own business. They participated in flea markets, trade shows, crafts shows and malls during the holidays. Ruby was a faithful member of Bethel Apostolic Church in Buchanan. She enjoyed reading her bible, completing it several times from beginning to the end each year. Ruby also loved her precious dog, Autumn Rose. She always looked forward to her special shopping trips with her daughter, Yvonne. Faith and family were most important to Ruby. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Ray Palien and a sister, Charlotte Fadder. Ruby is survived by her husband, Fred Deeds of Buchanan, her daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne and Jim Waggoner of Buchanan, her favorite grandson Bryan and his wife Tracy Waggoner of Niles. She also leaves countless friends and family members who will always cherish her memory. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 4:00p.m. until 6:00p.m. at Bethel Apostolic Church in Buchanan with funeral services beginning at 6:00p.m. A private committal will be held on Friday at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan.
