Obituary of Muriel Colosky

Muriel Colosky, 84, of Niles and formerly of Beaverton, Michigan, passed away at Memorial Hospital on Thursday, March 8, 2017. Muriel was born on April 3, 1932, to the late Winzel and Mary Loretta Hoffman in Pontiac, Michigan. Muriel was the store manager of the D & C Store in Beaverton and Clare. It was the perfect job for her because she enjoyed people. On December 18, 1993, Muriel wed Leo Colosky at a ceremony in Beaverton, Michigan; the two families blended perfectly. Muriel was a Life Member of the Order of The Eastern Star where she served as a past Worthy Matron. She was also a member of the Beaverton Quilting Club and the United Methodist Church. She enjoyed taking care of people, especially her grandchildren. After Leo passed away Muriel moved to Niles. She had an extensive doll collection and enjoyed antiquing with her daughter. She was a wonderful mom and provided a great example to her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Winzel Hoffman and Mary Loretta Rose; husband, Leo Colosky; and two brothers, Stacey and Elwood Hoffman. Muriel is survived by her children, Brenda Volrath of Niles, Eric (Angie) Ostic of Beaverton, Paula Hoffman of Shepherd, Michigan, Connie (Joe) Phillips of Farwell, Michigan, Gay Lorraine (Tom) Watts of Durand, Michigan, and Kerry( Bruce) Lang of Beaverton; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; sister, Delores Doyle; and many extended family members and close friends. In keeping with Muriel's wishes, she has been cremated and will be interred next to Leo at Beaverton Cemetery.
