Obituary of Jay Maycock

Jay D. Maycock, 62, of Niles, passed from this life on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at his home after an extended illness. He was born on October 13, 1954, in Kodiak, Alaska, to Jay D. and Barbara J. (Johnson) Maycock. Jay married his beloved wife, Tracy Younkin, on March 24, 2003, in Hot Springs, Arkansas. "Blue" Jay ran the roads as a truck driver for over 30 years. His travel buddy was his dog, Naula. He enjoyed tinkering with cars, fishing, camping, and spending time with his wife and family. Jay knew no stranger and was quick to help others. Jay made Bethel Tabernacle in Niles his church home. In 2007 he was baptized in Jesus Name and in February of 2014 he received the Holy Ghost. Jay was preceded in death by his father; brother, Fred Maycock; and his sister, Barbara Mahoney. He is survived by his wife, Tracy; mother, Barbara; two siblings, Doug (Stephanie) Butler, Jr. of Kentucky and Wendy (Tim) Walters of Virginia; along with countless friends. Funeral services for Jay will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Bethel Tabernacle at 71378 Ironwood Drive, in Niles. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the church to assist the family with funeral expenses.
