GailAnn Young, 75, of Niles, passed away at Riveridge Manor on Thursday, March 9, 2017. GailAnn was born on February 27, 1942 to the late Galen and Anna Myers in Niles, Michigan. GailAnn was a driver for Dial-a-Ride for over 22 years. She was a very social person and loved her interaction with people at work. GailAnn and her longtime companion, Larry Stewart, spent much of their free time traveling. She loved the freedom life had given her and that she had someone like Larry to share that with, whether that be flying to the Balloon Works restaurant in Plymouth, traveling to all 48 states, or just hanging out at GailAnn's home on the weekend with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Shirley Goodman. Gail is survived by her children, Debi DeMeulenaere of Niles, Bob (Rachael) Young of Kansas City, Missouri; companion, Larry Stewart of Niles; grandchildren, Jason (Brandi) Carnes, Jessica (Tim Edgerly) Carnes; great grandchildren, Eli and Owen Edgerly and Evan and Evette Allen; and many extended family members and close friends. Funeral services to honor GailAnn's life will be held on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel beginning at 12:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior.
