Obituary of Gail Mortimore

Gail Ruth Mortimore, 73, of Decatur, passed away at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo on Sunday, March 12, 2017. Gail was born on October 25, 1943, to the late Henry and Helen Bricker in Chicago, Illinois. Gail graduated from Gobles High School. In 2005 Gail retired from Welch's in Lawton. In 1990, she wed Merle Mortimore. The two enjoyed spending time outdoors. Gail especially loved camping, four-wheeling, and going to swap meets. Most of all though Gail loved raising dogs with Merle; she had a fondness for French bulldogs and Chihuahuas. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Charles Archer; and brothers, Henry, Robert, and Jack Bricker. Gail is survived by her husband, Merle Mortimore; daughter, Penny (Robert) Hamman; step-children, Penny Rhodes, Merle Paul Mortimore, Frank Mortimore, and Bonnie (Dave) Musall; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and close friends. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, at Brown Funeral Home beginning at 2:00 p.m. with a time of visitation one hour prior.
