Henry O. "Hog" Gold, Jr., 65, of Niles, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2013 at West Woods of Niles, following a lengthy illness. He was born on August 18, 1947 in Niles to the late Henry O. and Marion L. (Eckert) Gold. In 1968 Hog married Margaret Morrison and to that union was born two children Eric and Shanna. The couple remained friends after going their separate ways years later. Hog was employed at Simplicity Pattern Company for over 40 years, where he worked as a pressman. His hobbies included Go-Kart racing, hot rods, riding his Harley and was an avid NASCAR and Notre Dame fan. He mostly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was considered the "life of the party". On April 6, 1993 Hog married Carol Ann (Ernsperger) Heath at a ceremony in Niles, Michigan. She preceded him in death in 2010. He is survived by two children Eric E. Gold of Niles and Shanna (Christopher) Clark of Cassopolis, two grandchildren Hayden Clark of Cassopolis and Shelby Gold of Niles, a stepson Eddie Heath of Niles and a stepdaughter Lisa oswalt-Lipscomb of Marcellus, several step-grandchildren, two brothers Herman Gold of Orlando, Florida and Gary Gold of Niles. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Henry to the American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association.
