So sorry to hear, my prayers and thoughts are with you all. I remember John (Mr. East!) as being bigger than life, someone who had 'been there, done that' and could tell you all about it. He was kind, generous, always smiling and ready with a quip, and more than wiling to happily tolerate a rag tag bunch of preteen boys all hanging out around the house, being generally stupid, and eating up all the food. He let us shoot BB guns in the yard, mess around with his military surplus stuff, tell us not to do something and then smile and wink at us, and generally be a guiding light on what it took to be a man. He was down to earth, a warm soul, had the absolute coolest mustache in the whole world, and I'm glad to say he gave me many, many fond memories from youth. He'll be deeply missed but his legacy will shine forever. Our deepest condolences, Chris and Donna Hall
