Obituary of Steven D. Greenwood

Steven D. Greenwood, 52, of Cassopolis, passed away at home on Thursday, April 20, 2017. Steve was born on August 8, 1964, to Larry and Judith "Judy" (Myers) Greenwood in Dowagiac, Michigan. After graduating from Dowagiac Union High School, Steve went on to earn his dual associate's degree in Industrial Building Maintenance and Electronics Technology. He wed Kimberly Proffitt and they had two daughters, Alyssa and Erica. Steve was currently working as a baker at Bimbo Bakery where he had made many friends. Steve also loved spending time up north, hunting, mushrooming, or just enjoying nature. He also loved his daughters and talked about them non-stop. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kelly Greenwood and is survived by his parents, Larry and Judy Greenwood of Niles; children, Alyssa (Scott Sarver) Greenwood of Howell, Michigan and Erica (Benjamin) Wainwright of Kalamazoo, Michigan; sisters, Sherry (Greg) Akey of Niles and Tina Hollis of Niles; his dog, Chip; several nieces and nephews; and many extended family members and close friends. A memorial service to honor Steve will be held on Saturday, April 29, 2017, at Brown Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. with a time of visitation one hour prior.
