Robert J. Cripe, 101, of Niles passed away on April 29, 2017 in Berrien Springs, Michigan.
He was born on August 16, 1915, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, to Bert O. and Matilda (Small) Cripe. Bob was a life-long resident of southwestern Michigan. In his early years, he was employed by the Kawneer Corporation and Cupples Products. He retired from the Sundstrand Corporation in 1976. Bob enjoyed gardening and being outdoors. He spent a great amount of his time helping family members and friends with their farming projects.
He is survived by his son, James (Judy) Cripe of Niles; his daughter, Ginny (Randy) Stevens of Niles; two grandsons, Rodney (Mary) Cripe of Ada, Michigan and Jeffery (Lacee) Cripe of S. Lebanon, Ohio; four great-grandchildren, Lauren Cripe, Gillian Cripe and Rowan Cripe of S. Lebanon, Ohio and Amelia Cripe of Ada, Michigan; one sister, Margaret Renouf of Grant, Michigan and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers; Bert Cripe, Jack Cripe, Don Cripe, Claire Cripe and his sisters; Mary Brott, Grace Payne and Dorothy Evans.
In keeping with Mr. Cripe's wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in honor of him may do so to Caring Circle Hospice, 4025 Health Park Lane; St. Joseph, MI 49085.
