Obituary of Clifton Lane

Clifton Odell Lane July 15, 1933 October 1, 2006 Clifton "Buster" Odell Lane, 73, of Bame Ave. in Niles, passed away on October 1, 2006 at Lakeland Regional Health Systems in Niles. Clifton was born on July 15, 1933 to the late Hugh and Myrtle Lane. He wed Roberta Skaggs on November 12, 1952 at a beautiful ceremony in Buchanan, Michigan. Together they had 5 wonderful children. In Clifton's free time he spent much of it out doors. After his 32 years of dedicated service at Tyler's, as a mechanic, he retired. After his retirement though he didn't sit and watch life go by, he joined right in. Clifton spent his time hunting, fishing, gardening and woodworking. He made picture frames, tackle boxes and other projects. In his garden he grew veggies and loved to harvest them. Clifton is preceded in death by his parents, wife Roberta, son Billy Lane and sister Betty Lane. He is survived by his children Carol Evick and her fiancé Todd Overpeck of Elkhart, Larry Lane of Niles, Patricia (Jerry) Buchan of Niles and Ronald Lane and his fiancé Sandra Focht of Niles, a brother William (Cecile) Lane of Louisiana, sisters Sissy Baskin of Alaska, Rene Lane and Wilma Lane both of California. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 from 1-3 pm at Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Niles where Clifton's funeral service will also be held on Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at 3:00 pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Services (formerly Pifer~Smith) of Niles.
