Carol Sue (Haley) Lockhart-Galbreath October 9, 1949 November 4, 2006 Carol Sue (Haley) Lockhart-Galbreath, 57, of 258 East North Street, passed away on Saturday, November 4, 2006, after a long battle with cancer, at her home in Marcellus with her beloved husband and family by her side. Carol Haley was born on October 9, 1949 to the late Russell and Mary (Murphy) Haley at their home on Town Hall Road. On Christmas Eve Carol married the love of her life, William Galbreath at a ceremony in Dowagiac. They lived there for most of their lives together and then moved to Marcellus in 1994. She worked as a waitress and bartender at the Elks, Eagle's and Moose of Dowagiac. She also worked many factory Jobs such as Jessup Door Company and Galval Vans of Indiana. Carol dreamed of owning a small business, which she did in 1997. She opened Carol's Conner, an arcade, in Marcellus. She also spent her time in her yard, planting flowers and working on her husband's wood workings that she stained and painted. Carol loved the holidays no matter how big or small. She decorated for each and every one of them; her yard always had a display that she and her husband did together. Carol believed in family, no matter how they got along. Her reason to go on the last 15 years was her only grandson Karl. Carol was a very devoted grandmother who showed all the love she had on Karl. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Daniel, Donald and Thomas Haley, sisters Nora Ray, Loweta Johnson and Lila Ondersma. Carol leaves behind her husband of 23 years, William Galbreath, her son John Lee Lockhart II of Twin Lakes, MI, daughter Susan Ruby Lockhart of Marcellus, MI, grandson Karl David Lockhart of Marcellus, brother Robert Haley Sr. of Dowagiac, MI, 3 sisters Laura Woolsey of Dowagiac, Lois Jean Burns of Decatur, MI and Cinda Haley of Decatur. In keeping with Carol's wishes she has been cremated. A time of visitation will take place on Saturday, November 11, 2006 at Carol's home at 258 E. North St.; Marcellus, MI 49067 from 1-5 pm. All family and friends are welcome to attend. Memorial Donations may be made to Carol's family; c/o William Galbreath; PO Box 157; Marcellus, MI 49067.
