Robert Terrill Cox July 3, 1938 November 24, 2006 Robert Terrill Cox, 68, of East Bertrand Road in Niles, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, November 24, 2006 after a long bout with pneumonia. Robert was born on July 3, 1938 to the late Floyd and Lottie (King) Cox in Clinton Kentucky; he was one of 6 children. On July 7, 1984 Robert married the love of his life, Linda Vanderpool at a ceremony in Niles. After working many years at Express Freight Lines Robert changed to working for ABF Freight. He was a teamster and retired after 34 years of dedicated service in July of 2003. After his retirement he enjoyed his free time, working in the garden, with the flowers, on his speedboat in Lake Juno and watching football, especially the Colts, Notre Dame and the Bears. He enjoyed watching and feeding the birds and in his younger days playing a game or two of pool in a league. One of Roberts's greatest loves, next to his wife, was NASCAR. He was said to be Dale Earnhardt Sr.'s biggest fan. Robert was a funny, kind and generous man who loved his family very much. He is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Thomas, Donald and Anita Cox. Robert is survived by his wife of 22 years, sons Stephen (Brenda) Cox of Fairborn, OH and John Jordan of Niles, Daughters Cindy (Cliff) Smartt of Jones, MI, Pam (Tim) Feller of Elkhart, IN and Melinda (Bob) Corroto of South Bend, Sister Karen (Robert) Coffer of East Prairie, MO and Brother Charles Cox of Arkansas, 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. A time of visitation will be held on Monday, November 27, 2006 from 6-8pm at Brown Funeral Home in Niles where Robert's funeral will also be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, November 28, 2006 with a time of visitation one hour prior to the service and internment immediately following. Bishop Shaun Huxford will be officiating. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Services (formerly Pifer~Smith) of Niles.
