Obituary of Virginia L. Howe

Virginia L. (Christy) Howe, 82, of Berrien Center, Michigan passed away at Lakeland Hospital in St. Joseph, Michigan on Monday, July 22, 2013. She was born on March 22, 1931 to the late Robert and Mary (George) Christy in Apollo, Pennsylvania. She was one of six children growing up in the Christy household. After graduating from Berrien Springs High School, Virginia wed Robert Eugene Howe in 1953. Virginia was a very crafty person, she loved sewing, making crafts, dancing and crossword puzzles but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially if they would accompany her to the casino. She is preceded in death by her parents and a sister Vivian Spilger. Virginia is survived by her husband Robert of Berrien Center, children; Terry (Sherri) Howe of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Larry Howe of Baroda, Michigan, Denise (Doug) Ennis of Rochester, New York, Tina Howe of San Diego, California and Scott (Lisa) Howe of Dowagiac, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, siblings Dale Christy of Benton Harbor, Michigan, Bernice Fecho of Eau Claire, Michigan, Lyle "Buzz" (Mary Ann) Christy of Tennessee and Darlene McClure of Florida. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, July 26, 2013 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Mission Hills Memorial Chapel 61453 M-51 in Niles where funeral services to honor Virginia's life will also be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
