Obituary of Michael Couppleditch

Michael "Stretch" Couppleditch May 14, 1942 - January 12, 2007 Michael "Stretch" Couppleditch, 64, of Days Avenue in Buchanan, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Friday, January 12, 2007. Stretch was born on May 14, 1942 to the late Thomas and Kathleen (Ferguson) Couppleditch in England. The family moved to the United States in 1948. After graduating high school in the late 50's Stretch enlisted in the US Navy where he proudly served his country until 1965. After the Navy he became an over the road truck driver for many well known bands. He was the Assistant Tour Manager, Body Guard and Roadie for Styx for several years. After that he continued his career as a truck driver and retired in 2004. On May 11, 2001 he married the love of his life, Wendy Kline at a ceremony in Niles. He is preceded in death by his parents. Stretch is survived by his wife Wendy, Daughters Victoria (Ryan) Cauffman of Niles and Becky Hargreaves of Niles, Son John Hargreaves II of Buchanan and a Brother Peter (Lourdes) Couppleditch of St. Louis, MO. A time of visitation will be held on Monday, January 15, 2007 at Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Niles from 11-1pm with a memorial service following at 1:00 pm. Pastors Mark Gardner and Randy Smith will be officiating.
