Obituary of Frances Shives

Frances Eileen Shives January 12, 1919 January 30, 2007 Frances Eileen Shives, 88, of Prairie Ronde St. in Dowagiac passed away at Lakeland Hospital on Tuesday, January 30, 2007. Frances was born on January 12, 1919 to the late Harry and Edna (Irvin) Welling in Twelve Mile, Indiana. On March 1, 1942 Frances married the love of her life, Fred Shives, at a ceremony in Twelve Mile, IN at the Skinners Parsonage. Together they had 1 son. Fred passed away in 1987. Frances worked as a manicurist and lived in Florida for nearly 40 years. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and 3 brothers Arthur, Paul and Leon Welling. Frances is survived by her son Charles Shives of Dowagiac, Sister Flossie (George) Emmons of Indian Lake, 3 sister-in-laws Judy Welling of South Bend, Iness Welling of South Bend and June Welling of Lieters Ford, IN. A time of visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, 2007 at the Mission Hills Memorial Chapel from 12:00 - 2:00 pm with a funeral service following at 2:00. Frances will be interred at the Mission Hills Memorial Gardens. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Niles and Mission Hills Memorial Chapel.
