Obituary of Hilda Airney

Hilda Airney February 9, 1912 March 30, 2007 Hilda Airney, 95, of Baldwin Drive in Niles, passed away at Riveridge Manor in Niles on Friday, March 30, 2007. Hilda was born on February 9, 1912 in Dowagiac, Michigan to the late Ferdinand "Fred" and Natalie (Miller) Yochim. In 1934 Hilda was wed to Herman Webster and moved to Niles. Together they had 2 children. After he passed in 1967 she met Werner Airney and they were married in the early 70's. He passed away in 1995. Hilda was a member of the Niles Woman's Pinochle Club for over 30 years. Along with card games she also enjoyed gardening and arranging the amazing flowers she had grown. Hilda was also an avid cat lover and cared for any that would come around. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands Herman Webster and Werner Airney, brothers Herman Yochim, Henry Yochim, sisters Henrietta Brewster and Mildred "Mitzie" Foreman, 2 grandchildren and brother-in-law Don Wilson. Hilda is survived by her son James "Jim" (Frances) Webster of Niles, daughter Patricia (Elias "Louie") Lampos of South Bend, IN, 3 step-children, brothers Harold (Hilda) Yochim of Bourbanais, IL and Paul (Beverly) Yochim of Niles, sister Helen Wilson of Dowagiac, 4 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. A time of visitation will be held from 12-2 pm at the Mission Hills Memorial Chapel with her funeral immediately following at 2:00 pm. Pastor Brian Klawiter-Benton from Holy Trinity Lutheran Church will be officiating. Hilda will be interred at the Mission Hills Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Airney Family. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home and Cremation Services of Niles.
