Obituary of Charles Roush

Charles Roush, 72, of Niles, passed away at his home on Saturday, May 6, 2017. Charles was born on July 5, 1945, to the late Charles and Eva (Smith) Roush in South Bend, Indiana. After high school Charles went on to attend two years of technical school until he enlisted in the Army Reserves; where he served from 1968 - 1972. Charles then went to work for AM General where he was a material handler for over 30 years. On September 13, 1969, Charles wed Mary Lou Howard at a ceremony in Niles. Charles knew how to work hard and play hard. He enjoyed spending time with his family at Silver Lake riding their dune buggies and spending time with the family pets. He and Mary also raised show dogs and enjoyed their companionship. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Linda and Brenda Roush. Charles is survived by his wife, Mary Roush; daughter, Heather (Kerry Gross) Roush of Niles; grandchildren, Courtney Moore of Jacksonville, Florida and Johnathan Johnson of Niles. Charles' family will be hosting a memorial service on Friday, May 19, 2017, at the Odd Fellows Park located at 1505 Bond Street in Niles at 4:00 p.m. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in Charles' memory may do so to the local animal shelter of your choice.
