Obituary of Harlod Ballard

Harlod R. Ballard, 66, of Niles, Michigan, passed away Saturday, August 18th, 2007 at his home, following an illness. He was born on October 29, 1940 in Arkansas to Cecil and Marzel (Fortner) Ballard. Harlod married the love of his life, Shirley Bennett, on July 7th, 1983. Harold retired from National Standard and also worked several years at Delta Industrial Valves. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, working, and spending time outdoors. He is preceded in death by his father Cecil Ballard. Harlod is survived by his wife Shirley Ballard of Niles, his mother Marzel (Fortner) Ballard, three sons Greg Ballard of Union, Michigan, Jamie Ballard of Niles, Michigan, Joe Whitfield of Elkhart, Indiana, four daughters Debbie Davis of Schwartz Creek, Michigan, Gina Karasek of St. Johns, Michigan, Wendy Jordan of Niles, Michigan, Belinda Byrd of Niles, Michigan, and thirteen grandchildren. A time of visitation will be held Wednesday August 22, 2007 at Brown Funeral Home from 6:00p.m.- 8:00p.m.. A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 23, 2007 at Brown Funeral Home at 11:00a.m. with Pastor William Pollock officiating. The internment will be held Union Cemetery in Berrien Center.
