Obituary of William Ender

William L. Ender September 22, 1924 August 23, 2007 William L. "Bill" Ender, 82, of Niles, passed away at Silverbrook Manor on Thursday August 23, 2007, following an illness. He was born on September 22, 1924 in Galien, Michigan to the late Lester and Goldie (Dellinger) Ender. On December 19, 1943 he married Joan Fisk at a ceremony in Galien. Bill worked as a plasterer for many years with F.T. Forsey, Inc. before his retirement in 1987. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Niles, where he served many times as a deacon and elder, American Legion Post 26 where he was post adjutant and the Operative Plasterers and Cement Masons Union for over fifty years. Bill was instrumental in the founding of the Brandywine Athletic Boosters and the Brandywine Little League, where he helped to develop the first regulation baseball field. He was a former president of the Brandywine Lions Club and was also a Boy Scout leader at First Presbyterian Church. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, gardening, mushrooming, and being a Cubs fan. Bill also enjoyed spending time outdoors working in his yard. He was always available for his family and friends. Bill is survived by his wife Joan Ender of Niles, a son William "Bill" (Kathryn) Ender of Niles, a daughter Jill Ender of Niles, granddaughter Elizabeth Ender of Niles and a sister Juanita Hall of Arizona. In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Monday August 27th, 2007 at First Presbyterian Church 13 S 4th Street, Niles at 11:00 a.m. where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will take place at First Presbyterian Church Columbarium. Arrangements have been entrusted to Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Niles.
