Phyllis Elaine (Havenga) Scott

Phyllis E. Scott, 79, of Niles, passed away at her home on Tuesday morning, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on October 17, 1927 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to the late Clarence and Hazel (Ellinger) Havenga.
On July 23, 1950 Phyllis married Oliver Scott at a ceremony in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
A homemaker most of her life, Phyllis enjoyed needle point and crafts. She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Niles Garden Club and enjoyed volunteering for Meals on Wheels.
Phyllis is survived by her husband Oliver Scott of Niles, a daughter Kathy (Ken) Lull of Decatur, a son Kenneth (Della) Scott of Owasso, Michigan, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a sister Gail Brewer of Battle Creek.
In keeping with Phyllis' wishes, cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.
